“You can even get paint, small canvases, or paper at [the dollar store] when on a budget,” shared Libby R.
If you prefer to handwrite your stories like Tracy K., she shared that “lined notebooks are very inexpensive.” You could also repurpose scrap paper that you have lying around.
“It can be fun to just see what you have already at home and try to make something of it. Of course, you can always go out and purchase ingredients if needed, but I have found plenty of recipes with the items I already have in the pantry.”
Try this tip from Ashley G: “You can save by connecting apps [on your smart devices] to your local library and borrowing e-books.”
Haley H. finds this activity to be a recipe for success in her home. “Making playdough is a super fun in-home activity. Usually, I have all ingredients on hand, [it] gets my toddler involved, and we have a math lesson, as well.”
