When you read a great book, get hooked on a new TV show, or find an incredible deal at the store, you share it with your family.
So, what do you do when you find a credit union you love? Hopefully, the same.
Being a PSECU member comes with a variety of benefits you and your family can enjoy. We’ve highlighted a few below that can make life more manageable moneywise for you and your family.
1. More Money Back Means More Money for What Matters Most
PSECU members can save money by banking with us. We offer everyday value with benefits like free checking, low- or no-fee products and services, surcharge-free ATMs plus rebates (up to $20 per month with direct deposit and up to $8 per month without), low-rate loans, and much more.
We believe that your money should stay where it belongs – with you. That leaves you with more money to spend on what matters most to you and your family.
2. Transferring Funds Makes Giving and Splitting Simple
Whether you’re giving your child their weekly allowance or splitting the cost of dinner with your sibling, transferring funds has never been easier for PSECU members. Our free person-to-person transfer service allows members within the U.S. to send funds to other members quickly and securely.
For added convenience, you can save these other PSECU accounts in your transfer list so that the money is transferred instantly in the future.
3. Banking on the Go Gives Your Family More Time Together
Our digital banking tools are easy and convenient to use and designed to fit your family’s on-the-go lifestyle. You don’t need to worry about squeezing in a trip to a branch to transfer funds, deposit checks, or pay bills. You and your family members can use our mobile app to manage your money anytime, anywhere – whether in between meetings at work or on the sidelines of your child’s soccer game.
4. Payment Tools Keep Your Busy Family’s Finances in Order
Are you or a family member so busy you’re losing track of when upcoming bills are due? Our free bill payer service allows members to pay just about anyone – utility companies, membership associations, even the babysitter – right on time. Easily set up recurring payments or reminders to make sure you never miss a due date.
Also, if you have both direct deposit and a loan with us, you can have a portion of your paycheck sent directly to your PSECU loan account – no extra steps are required after setup.
5. Educational Resources Allow You to Take Charge of Your Family’s Financial Future
No matter what age group or life stage you and your family members are in, we’re here to help you improve your financial know-how. Our financial education program, WalletWorks, hosts hundreds of free workshops each year for audiences of all ages. Don’t have time to make it in person? You can also find a library of online resources on our website ranging from children’s activity sheets and tips for parents to budgeting worksheets and videos on important money management topics.
6. Opportunities to Save and Reward Your Family
Dollars add up quicker when your entire family is taking advantage of the different ways we help our members grow their savings. Our product line has something for everyone. Working with your spouse on paying off high-interest debt? You can save big when you move balances to our Classic Card with no annual fees and no PSECU balance transfer fee. Have a teenager starting their first job? Tell them about our free checking and debit card rewards1. Know a family member who’s well established, but looking for more from their financial institution? They can earn money back on all eligible purchases using our cash rewards credit card.
7. Savings Account Options for Youth Give Your Child a Brighter Future
PSECU offers two savings account options for youth under age 18 to help children get started on the right foot – a Regular savings share and a custodial account. Both qualify for a higher-yield savings rate, which is available on accounts opened for, or owned by, youth under age 18. A balance as low as $5 can earn a 4.00% Annual Percentage Yield2 (APY) on up to $500. If your balance goes above $500, any money over $500 will earn dividends based on our Regular share rate.
In addition, we offer an annual scholarship competition for graduating high school seniors who are members and have Financial Education Centers on college campuses across Pennsylvania.

We’ve designed our products and services with you and your family in mind. And as a not-for-profit financial institution, we’re committed to you, your family, and the community.
We’re a member-owned credit union you can feel good about sharing with your family. To help them start saving today, encourage them to apply for membership.
