Harrisburg, PA (December 12, 2022) – Barb Bowker, PSECU Chief Member Experience Officer, has been named to the 2022 City & State PA Impact 50 list.
According to City & State PA, the Impact 50 list identifies the “most powerful forces for environmental, social, and governance improvement in Pennsylvania.” The Impact 50 honorees will be celebrated for improving the lives of Pennsylvanians through their community service, volunteerism, diversity initiatives, advocacy efforts, and innovation.
“As a lifelong PA resident, I am honored to be included in this list among 49 other Pennsylvanians working to make this state as strong and as prosperous as it can be for its residents,” said Bowker.
Bowker has been with PSECU for more than 30 years. Since assuming the role of Chief Member Experience Officer, PSECU surpassed the 500,000-member mark, a momentous milestone in the credit union’s 88-year history. That growth required strategic leadership and collaboration from all areas of the credit union.
Additionally, she led the realignment and formation of the Member Experience area which brought multiple departments of the credit union together to enhance the member experience. Those areas included: analytics, marketing, creative, community relations, PSECU’s contact center, deposit product management, and digital banking. This change has resulted in a stronger focus on the member experience across all channels and a renewed focus on ensuring PSECU is providing members with the deposit products they need for financial success.
Bowker earned her Bachelor's in Business Administration from Shippensburg University. She currently serves on the board of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry and the Shippensburg University Alumni Association. Previously, Bowker was the Chair of the Board of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Foundation, and the Capital Region American Heart Association/American Stroke Association as well as a board member for the Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County.
She is a 2014 recipient of the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg’s Woman of Excellence Award as well as the Central Penn Business Journal’s Women of Influence Award in 2015.
In 2018, Bowker was the keynote speaker at Shippensburg University’s Winter Commencement.
“I am fortunate enough to work for an organization that serves people in all four corners of the state,” remarked Bowker. “That means I get to be connected to the many diverse communities throughout the Commonwealth, leading PSECU to help our members everywhere achieve more.”
